I'm Ottó and I’m an arborist with a deep passion for tree care and tree climbing. I've always been excited by outdoor activities and I feel very blessed to be able to make a profession out of it.
My journey with trees began with industrial rope access in 2020. I loved to work at heights, working at places where only a very few people have been. Using my skills with rope techniques, occasionally I did some hazardous tree removal and I enjoyed the process much more than anything I ever did before.
Over the years, I've drifted towards tree care. Although I enjoyed the process of removing trees with rope techniques, I always felt sorry for the otherwise healthy trees. I wished that I would be able to save them and implement a good solution both for the people and the trees. While gathering information to be able to do this, I have not only honed my skills but also fueled my enthusiasm to learn and study, discovering techniques to prune and support trees. In this pursuit I've deepened my knowledge of arborism.
Beyond tree care, I take careful note of the ecological system surrounding my work area. I aim to apply a comprehensive understanding when making decisions that affect this ecological system. I also scope the benefits of my intervention to my customers and the communities I work in.
When I'm not working in the field or studying from my books, I love traveling and visiting new places. I enjoy gaining new experiences and widening my perspectives.
My plans for the next few years are to channel my passions more into my career and live a few months or a year in different countries and environments while working as an arborist.
On this site I wish to share and summarize the knowledge and experiences that I gathered into consumable posts, to guide people to make more responsible decisions for their trees or to help find the right professionals to do so.
Thanks for supporting my work – I'd love to connect!
